Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Humm... Everyone knows me as Silver, and I'm gonna try my hand as Silver, Beta Extordinare! (Yeah, right...!) I'll beta for anyone who needs me too, as long as the fic is something that grabs my attention. (Ex.- Final Fantasy (Especially VII), Harry Potter, and a bunch of anime's.) Other than that, just drop me a message, and I'll see if the fic revolves around something I'm familiar with, and if it is, I'd love to beta! But, if it's not something that's in my repitoir, if it sounds interesting enough, I'll take a crash course in whatever it's about so I can beta! Anyway, if you've got questions, simply drop me a line!br /br / New Update! (8/20/09) I have gotten a lot of bete requests lately and read some fics that kinda put me in the mood to change a coupld of minor things. For those of you whom I already beta for there will be no change, but for those of you who come to me in the future, I want to let you all know that I will start focusing on sentence structure as well as everything that I currently focus on. So the structure of a story I beta might be changed, although I will preserve the original idea. But, if someone wants me to beta and I do decide to change things other than spelling or punctuation or spacing, I will let you know ahead of time! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'll read anything once- and more if it's really well written! Yaoi, yuri and non-slash- none of it bothers me. I'm also a proficent speller and a stickler for punctuation and sentence structure. So, I've got all my bases covered! |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I don't guess I have many flaws when it comes to beta-ing. My only problem is beta-ing for people who just cannot spell or punctuate. I can understand a few mistakes, everyone makes them, even me! But I do not want to beta fics where almost every other word is misspelled and punctuation is non-existant. So, if you can't make the effort, don't come to me to beta! |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
Final Fantasy VII, Naruto, Loveless, Trinity Blood, Wrestling fics, DMC, Yu-Gi-Oh, GX and 5D's. (Most anime's go, just drop me a line and tell me the name of the anime, so that I can see if I know it. If I don't, and your story interests me, I'll do a little research in order to beta!) |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
As I mentioned above, I'm not shy about beta-ing yaoi or yuri, but there are a few things I don't want to beta- Any Power Rangers or small kid shows like that... Nuh-uh. No way. (This includes most cartoons on American TV, but not *all*! So, just send me a message and see if I'll beta for you, depending on the show!) |
