When I beta-read I'm going to be looking for obvious spelling and grammatical errors, as well as ways to improve the overall readability of the story. I will be looking out for dialogue, plot, story, and whether or not your characters have consistent personalities, rather than acting out of character frequently. I'm out to help you, so if I suggest a lot of things and give you much constructive criticism, it's not to offend. I use track changes when I edit, but I don't like to put notes using it because they end up all over the place, so I usually just use italics so you can differentiate when I'm speaking to you directly and when I'm adding something.

I'm able to spot grammatical errors, and like it was said above, I can improve drastically the quality of a story if you let me edit and you take my suggestions. I'm fairly quick when it comes to editing, as I like to get it done the moment I get it, and you'll usually have your chapter back within two days.

I'm going to be coming up with a large amount of suggestions for your story, so if you aren't comfortable with such suggestions for dialogue and character (and the occasional plot twist) I wouldn't recommend using me.Of course, you don't have to use everything I tell you, it's your story, and I wouldn't care at all if you didn't use my suggestions.

I prefer genres like Romance (especially slash), and genres like Angst and Drama. I will pretty much beta read anything you like, so much as it has potential to be a decent story and you actually take into consideration what I tell you.

There isn't much I wouldn't beta read, but I'm not the biggest fan of Sci-fi. You can try me if you like, but if it's just too overwhelming for me, you can try somebody else. As long as the author is cooperative and friendly, I shouldn't have a problem beta-reading the story. No poetry though, only Fiction.
