I haven't yet got much experience, but I'm probably going to read your story anyway so you might as well take advantage of me. ;) I need to start somewhere. I'm likely to focus on what will improve your pacing or any underlying meanings in the story, as these are the two things I analyze and enjoy most as a reader. Someone having more than one beta reader is in no way offensive. I'd prefer to be able to talk on an IM program such as Y!IM, MSN, or BBM, but e-mail is cool, too. I would love to be involved in the thought processes behind the writing, and I'm not really judgmental. If you want to write a story about something that may be controversial but you feel compelled to write something dealing with it, I'm all for it. Knowledge is power, and no one should live in a box. (There's no central heating in winter.) If you don't like the way I beta or my ideas, no hard feelings. It is, after all, your story, your idea, and your purview.

I'm very good at visualizing and hearing the characters speak and interact in my mind; this makes it pretty easy for me to tell when a character is or isn't OOC. I immerse myself in the fandom I'm reading in, often going back to my copies of the show to watch similar scenes or referenced scenes. I enjoy double-checking facts against the shows and making sure things are as accurate as possible. I've read enough stories, both by fans and professionals, to know when the pace of a story needs to be kicked up or slowed down.

It's been years since I was in school and my grasp of proper grammar has degraded. My ideas tend to build on the ideas of others, so it's rare that I write something of my own and even rarer that I post it. I'm not a very physically active person so I'm not very helpful with the description of how a character deals with physical strain.

I prefer to beta gen, slash, action or angst.

I don't like het. If I like an author enough I'll read it, but I don't think I'll ever be comfortable trying to wrap my head around it enough to be a decent beta. I normally won't beta something that introduces supernatural elements to a show that has nothing to do with the supernatural. If it's a crossover with a show that does involve the supernatural, then it will probably be okay. I would prefer not to beta mpreg, but if you'd like to tell me about your idea and where you'd like to take it, I'm open to changing my mind and agreeing to it.
