Hello!I am proud to say that I have finally become a beta reader! I love to read and review other people's stories. I have been an avid reviewer on other sites such as DeviantArt or Young Writers Society, and am glad to add FanFiction to my list!
As a beta reader, of course I look for grammatical correctness first, mostly because I notice it first! But really, I'm not too picky about that on this site because I understand that a lot of people, including myself, write on this site just for fun!
I would be more than glad to review from a reader's standpoint to give tips on how to draw the reader in, tell you what makes sense and what does not, and even help brainstorm ideas for your plots (or point out any plot-holes)! I will work with an author to the best of my ability to bring out the absolute best writing in them!
I understand that writing is supposed to be fun for those who truly love it, and I expect anyone who requests my services as a beta to understand that I review for fun. Do not bite the hand that feeds just because it gives you something you don't like. If you don't like my review because it sounds 'harsh' or 'unreasonable', you shouldn't have asked for one in the first place. Please try to understand that my role as a beta is not to sugar coat every word I say so that it sounds nice and sweet.
First of all, that's not my personality.
Second, that's not what a good beta does. (Though they shouldn't be blatantly rude either)
I will not insult your work. Ever. I will take into consideration everything I can before I write a review so that it will be a fair one. So if it seems like I hate your guts, that I despise your writing, that I really am just there to bring you down, settle your kettle and re-read this message!
I want to help, not hurt. I love writing, and I love people who write, who inspire, who dream.
