Hi everyone!A little bit about me: I'm 19, I have a life-long love of fanfiction and I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. I believe everyone can write, and even better, everyone can write well. I really love how on , we can do so many things - we can craft stories that make people around the world laugh and cry, we can upload fics we wrote on the bus home, and we can exorcise our daydreams onto the page. I find having a beta-reader is essential for stories that I want to be my best work, because it means I have a reader's honest opinion before I upload.
My beta reading style depends on what you want and need. For first-time or young writers, I'm happy to do grammar checks (though I won't correct everything for you!) and to go over things line by line. Some people may want help on plot, or on characterisation, or just to find out what their story is like to read. I'm happy to brainstorm with you, or to go over things in detail. My biggest expectation is that if I beta-reader for you, what you send me is your proof-read, thought over draft and then you think about my suggestions. I also understand that it can be hard if someone says that so-and-so passage doesn't work, or perhaps that this line is inappropriate - it's always your choice whether to accept my suggestions, but don't shoot the messenger!
I'll tell you at the time how busy I am, as this varies a lot. Some days I can beta-read for you in 24 hours, others it will be 3 days, but I'll always tell you.
