Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I enjoy idea of being one of the first people to read a new story(or new chapter to an on-going story), but I will not honey my words. I will try to be gentle, but I will tell you the truth about any and all mistakes, or even if something just doesn't make any sense to me. I will give praise where praise is due and constructive criticism where constructive criticism is /br / I am a fast reader, so it shouldn't take me too long to read your work. If you should ask me to be their beta-reader, we can discuss, one-on-one, how soon I should get my input back to you, depending on length, detail, update schedule, etc. Naturally, it would be easiest for me to beta read a book/movie/game etc., that I have already read/watched/played etc., however, if someone is in desperate need of a beta reader for a fanfiction that involves some sort of media that I have not read/watched or whatnot, then I will still love to help out grammar-wise at the very least, and will even try to read/watch etc. whatever the fanfiction is based on. If that makes sense. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I excel at writing in first person, but that's with my own stories; with beta reading, I will be able to help you with any POV. I do tend to have a bit more detailed, flowing writing(at least I think so. XD). I do like to think that sometimes I can manage having a good rhythm to my words. I like to believe that I have excellent grammar except for typos. Stupid typos. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Like I said before, typos. I also sometimes have a hard time summarizing words. Like if I want to describe someone as 'patient', I don't use that(sometimes), instead deciding to say 'gentle' and 'understanding', which is, basically, patient. Sometimes that's okay, but other times it just makes works far too wordy or offbeat.I also am not really good at mysteries. I'm pretty good with figuring out riddles, but when it comes to a bunch of little clues leading up to one big BA-BAM moment of "oh my gosh! It was Rumplestiltskin all along!" Well... that's not really my thing. At all. Don't even go there. I also tend to be sarcastic, and some people(mainly my friends) tend to say that I'm 'cruel', 'violent', and one of my friends loves to describe me as 'bloodthirsty.' I will try to be gentle, but... Well... take that however which way you wish. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
Preference wise, I'm pretty much fine with any genre. My favorite genres are romance, fantasy, action, horror, and supernatural. But again, I will still beta read for any genre. *-* |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I will not beta read incest. And I don't really like harems or reverse harems, either. Those are really the only things I have any objection to. |
