Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hi, I'm Zxel. I'm interested in beta-reading in the hopes of offering constructive criticism and helping to improve both myself and other authors. I'm a thorough and quick reader. My expectations are that anyone interested in my services comes in ready for my suggestions, but I don't ask for more than that. As long as you are respectful and take my corrections into consideration, I'm happy. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm a stickler for grammar and characterization, and am efficient at hammering out small spelling mistakes. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My weaknesses as a writer are primarily transitions between scenes and an overuse of adjectives. I also tend to go purpley if I'm not careful, but I think this weakness makes me more conscious of things of this nature. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I, of course, would like to stick to fandoms I know. I prefer serious stories over comedies. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Crack fics. I don't even really like my own. The one. Besides, it's hard to have accurate characterization in them anyway. They are crack after all. |
