Hello, I'm your friendly neighborhood northtreker. I've written a few of my own things (although the closest I've come to published was one performance of a play of mine at a community event) and now (because I got incredibly bogged own) a few things for here too. I love to write, and to read, a would love to read and help you write your own stuff. I'm pretty responsive, although I probably won't be the fastest beta reader out there but I am pretty thorough. I'll give functional as well as stylistic advice, but I would never rewrite anything. Ultimately, it's your story. I also harbor no illusions that I'm always (or even particularly often) correct. Take what advice you want, discard the rest, or all of it. It really won't bug me.

I have a decent vocabulary and am marginally well versed in modern grammar. I'm good at showing some of the more basic "show don't tell" tricks that makes prose pop a little better. I'm also very good at detail, I keep track of plot consistencies and can help keep things coherent. I'm also reasonably good at maintaining established character from works I'm familiar with. All that and I come with an ego you can more or less fit in your average wheelbarrow.

I got into fanfic writing because masters courses were taking up so much time that I couldn't work on my novel. I need a writing exercise to keep in practice, and, after years of reading fics, writing one (or a few) seemed like the natural choice. But this also means that I probably won't be able to get to you the same day. Within a week, unless your drop ten thousand words on me, should be doable, but I probably won't be the fastest beta in the world.

No, I'm interested in pretty much everything.

Racism, even fantastic racism really wears on me. As does character bashing. I'm more the Vonnegut school: I don't really believe in villains as such. I think everybody has reasons (even if they are only justifications for themselves) for why they do what they do, and, more to the point, why their side _is_ the good. Consequently, I have a hard time for the evulz characters seriously. Other than that I have no real hangups.
