Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I can be very picky at times, but when I do accept something, I do a really good job. I'm known among my friends for being very critical and quick to correct errors, so I could turn probably one of the worst written things in the world into something very nice. I'm also very quick about editing and whatnot, so I could usually get it back to you within 24 hours of you sending it to me... even if I do have school. :/ |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I excel at fixing spelling, grammatical, and plot errors. I have a very good memory for things previously said in the story and I can use that to help you work out any and/or all plot holes. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
heavy emotions are a little difficult for me to handle because of my autism. therefore, a character-driven fanfic would be harder for me to beta than a plot-driven fanfic... if that makes any sense. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I like extensions, additions, alterations (late in the original story only), alternate PoV, and I absolutely adore drabbles! I also greatly enjoy action, adventure, and the like. I like stories that give the proper respect to various characters and what kind of characters they may be. Honestly, the long running fanfictions that I like the most have a good amount of character development towards whatever the fic is trying to do. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I hate alterations (early in the original story only), AUs, and crack fics. Plus, if I see 'romance' in the genre section, I will completely avoid it altogether! hurt/comfort and angst also get on my nerves, but I understand that those two can be done well. Also, I'm very stingy on OCs to the point of the fact that if one is a main focus, then I will immediately turn around and walk away, so to speak. I don't mind, though, if they are just a small, supporting, bit part, so please keep that in mind. |
