On the bright side I love life, literature, and love. Somewhere in the gray penumbra are the rest of my characteristics. I am very firm in my beliefs and I require a great deal of trust from whomsoever wants me to beta his or her story. I try to enhance the natural ability of the author and to simply help him hone his technique. I believe that the writer wrote it right the first time . . . but he may have been confused or a bit too enamored of certain pet words/phrases. This leads me to my next point: I am not merely a proofreader; I am a stylistic advisor. I'm fairly friendly and I throw in a decent amount of humor to my interpersonal affairs but I can be quite serious. As such, I will expect writers to take my opinion quite seriously. I try not to be harsh on writers because I understand how personal writing is but I will be honest and I will call anyone to the plate if I feel he hasn't tried hard enough. You can expect me to be finished within two days unless I say otherwise.

Currently, I can't commit to large-scale projects. Please keep it to a few chapters with me. As in . . . 3 or 4 tops.

I am well read and have an above average ability to analyze literature. I am clear and concise about my feelings. I am a sort of expert on interpersonal behaviors. I can root out passive voice like no other. Also, I have virtually no moral reservations on what kind of story I read. I am respectful of an author's decisions within the story but am not afraid to speak my mind. At the same time, I have a decent understanding of the mind of readers. That is to say I have a good enough grasp on it to be able to gauge reader reactions. My absolute strongest point, however, is my ability to help others develop their natural voices in their writing.

I am only human. I may overlook a comma splice here or there. I can be demanding, stubborn, and sadistic. I can also be judgmental . . . so basically I'm the most eloquent, specific, and accurate flamer you may ever meet.

I adore Harry Potter. My favorite kind of Harry Potter story is the MWPP era fic, although one must not interpret this comment to mean that I am uninterested in other Harry Potter stories. I don't normally delve into the world of manga/anime fanfics but I am a huge nerd so the anime I have specifically listed are those which I would be interested in betareading for. Oh, and I enjoy slash.

I may turn down stories which contain mary-sue OC's or cannon couples. That's right, I have an issue with J.K. Rowling's coupling decisions. This does not apply to all cannon couplings but I do generally feel that if J.K already wrote it then why must you as well? Unless it's MWPP era and can be expanded upon. Fanfiction is for all of the things that went unwritten. They are not for pre-sleep fantasies of yourself with ridiculously hot versions of characters. Also I just don't really enjoy cross-fandom fics. Stick to one source, please. Also, this is absolute: no MPREG. I refuse. My four moral reservations are sex over 45 years of age, the encouragement of pedophilia, furries/bestiality and MPREG. That is all.
