I've read lots of fiction in my life, mostly original works but also more recently fanfiction in the past couple of years. That being said, I've exposed myself to many different styles of writing in many different genres, and my critical eye has developed during that time. I'm open to whatever ideas you have, and I only ask that you at least consider my feedback as well. By asking me to be your betareader, I'm not expecting you to agree with every criticism I give you, but I'd at least like to hear your thoughts on the matter. If you only want me to address grammar and spelling, I can certainly do that (just make it clear to me). Any criticisms that I offered would be thoughtfully worded and respectful with suggestions on what could be done differently. I'm not here to demean you, I just want to help make your story better.

I have a strong grasp on the basic rules of grammar (i.e. spelling, punctuation, verb tense, diction, etc.), which is necessary for anyone to be an effective beta reader. But I also will give you decent feedback on style and flow issues, as well as advice on what can be cut out. So basically, if you want your style to keep readers engaged, I might be able to help you with that. Also as a side note, if you're having trouble portraying a medical situation realistically in your story, I can be of some assistance. Who doesn't like having people getting shot/stabbed in their fics? It's dramatic. If you ask for it, I can give you feedback to make it as realistic as possible.

I don't Brit-pick well at all. Being born/raised/schooled in the US and having never left the country, I'm really only familiar with American English grammar and colloquialisms. I also might offer you too much criticism, especially if you don't specify what it is you want me to do. My turnaround time generally is a couple of days, but I often have school/work related issues crop up unexpectedly, so if you need someone that will be a reliable 2-day reader every time you send me something, then perhaps I'm not the right person for you.

As long as your plot is engaging, I'll probably read it for you (regardless of your pairings, settings, or characters). See the "naughty list" below for exceptions.

1) High school AU's. 2) Song fics/Poetry fics. 3) Porn without plot. 4) Non-con. 5) Demonizing another character (in a non-canon way) to make your pairing possible. 6) Pregnancy fics. I don't mind if it's in the story, but if that's the entire plot, then no thank you. 7) Fetishy stuff: M-preg, G!P, sadism, voyeurism, etc. A little BDSM is fine, but I'm not willing wade through a lot of it.
