While I am a new beta-reader, I have helped a few people with proofreading and bouncing ideas before (both inside and outside fanfiction). For the most part I should be pretty quick with getting back to you as well since I have quite a bit of time on my hands at the moment. If something comes up, I will be sure to let you know though. I feel like who I am as a beta is rather related to who I am as a writer. I'm the type of person who writes longer stories which have a mix of conversation, action, and thought by the characters. I also make sure to keep my writing of characters in character. Just like how I write, I like to read things that follow the same general guidelines, and I'd love to help people improve their writing.

My biggest strength would probably be proofreading for grammar and spelling. I'm a bit of a stickler for both. I am also good at being a sounding board for new ideas and offering up some of my own to add more details to writing, especially when what is written is very conversation based. Offering suggestions or ideas to fill in a story and make it paint a fuller picture would also be a strength of mine. Personally I also think I have a knack for writing summaries that are intriguing. I don't know if anyone else things so, but I do at least.

Romance. Really, I'm not good at writing romance, which is why I don't write it. I am willing to read it, for the most part, but I can't offer assistance in how to get characters together to create or expand a relationship. While I am good at adding larger details, I'm not the best person to beta-read for suggestions to the minute details that just make the story really pop. If you are specific about where you are looking for some I could probably come up with something, but again, it isn't a strong point for me.

Personally, I feel that the only stories I would really be willing to beta are those that involve a canon that I know. I am willing to read others, but as I mentioned in my description about me, I am very much focused on whether a story is in character or not. That's hard to do when you don't know the series the story is coming from. Other than that, I don't have a very large preference on ones I would like to read. Of course I'm a major SVU lover, so I'd never turn down one of those. While I prefer the titles listed, I am willing to beta other series that I have read/seen and don't know as well. Just ask and I will let you know if what you have is one of them.

This is pretty much the same as my preferred. I'd rather not read stories from canons I don't know. I also prefer not to read stories from canons I do know where you know for a fact the characters are acting in ways they wouldn't in their series.
