Beta Description
Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hey there! juno57 here!br /

br /

Above all, basic stylistic and grammatical errors are my primary focus– there's nothing more frustrating for a reader than to have the story they're reading interrupted due to common spelling and grammar mistakes! I hope to at least see that the stories have been put through a spell-check program, and in all honesty, it is completely painless and quick. I am not going to serve as this first-level spellcheck service, as your computer, and hopefully your common sense, can do that already. I hope to catch grammatical errors, and offer some stylistic advice, should you want some. :P

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I have taken AP English for the past 2 years, and will be taking a Writer's Craft course this year. I studied intensive grammar throughout my elementary years, so I have a solid understanding of basic and advanced grammar. I pride myself on checking over my material multiple times, and use techniques of reading that are designed to catch errors. I have also spent the past few years honing my stylistic skills, and I would be happy to offer my opinions if you'd like.
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My weakness would most likely be the fact that I have lots of work for the majority of the year. Between balancing school, home life, my own stories, and Beta reading, my time gets a little stretched. I will try my best to be available often, however, sometimes things can't be helped.
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I would prefer stories with a T rating or higher, as I feel that the writers are slightly older, would be more open to suggestion, and would have more mature writing styles. I find if I try to read a K story, I feel the need to change too much about it; the original story becomes something completely different compared to how it started. Stories with higher ratings tend to have more developed plots, and would be easier to critique than the K stories, which would end up being me lecturing on writing!
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Most likely, K-K stories, as I feel that sometimes they can be a little juvenile, and I feel like I'd try to make it more mature in its plot. However, I always try to stay open minded, so that being said, it really depends on the story.
