My general editing style is to first read for an overarching narrative and characterization and then line edit when the overall story is fleshed out. This may lead to multiple drafts and I am fine looking at the same work or chapter multiple times. Any characterization or narrative flaws I see I make note of for the author to fix and make suggestions for how the work can be changed. I will not make a note of anything that I cannot make a suggestion of change for. I am a reader who enjoys a wide variety of fanfiction and would be okay betareading for both beginners and experienced writers. I have been reading fanfiction for 8 years and have been a writer for that entire time. I know what growth looks like and want to help new writers grow and continue growing myself along the way.

I have taken multiple classes on editing/grammar and would be able to help with any formatting or grammar issues a writer is having. Formatting issues I often see writers have is paragraph breaks and dialog tags. I am the person to reach out to if you just want your work looked over with a fine tooth comb. I can also critically read works for characterization (I am fine editing works with OOC characters, but I will check for internal consistency throughout the work) and plot inconsistencies. Dialog is what I really excel in writing and editing. I am able to tell when something sounds forced or cliche and help create dialog that flows smoother.

I do not enjoy writing or reading flowery or overly descriptive writing styles, so it is something that I would have a hard time reading without bias. I have no clue how to write or edit smut. I know a good smut scene when I see one, but could not inform a writer how to fix a bad one. Reading and editing large battle sequences is also not my forte as I can never keep track of so many things going on at once.

I would prefer to beta for stories with tropes I enjoy reading. My favorite tropes are soulmate AUs, crossovers, time travel shenanigans, and enemies to lovers

I would not like to betaread for any tropes or ships that I actively dislike due to the bias it would bring to my reading. Some of these tropes include pregnancy or babies, ABO, and love triangles (unless they resolve as a triad). Ships that I will not betaread are destiel or stony. OC main characters are also not something I am interested in. I am new to writing smut and thus would not feel comfortable being a beta for a story in which centers around or heavily contains it.
