I love the english language and it upsets me to see wonderful stories with terrible spelling and grammer. I am a British Lit. major and I have been editing and writing for as long as I can remember. I am anal about proper grammer and spelling, although I must admit up front that as much I would like to believe it I am not perfect, so I may occasionally miss something, however I can guaruntee that I will catch at least 98% of the mistakes.

It usually takes me a little while to get through a piece because I read it through once, before I go back and decide to edit or alter anything. Then I read it through again to make sure all my editing is reasonable and logical, AND THEN I re-read it one final time to make sure I did not miss anything. Granted this also depends on how long the material is that you choose to send me, if its 2 pages it will take less time than say 30 pages...I think you get the point.

And finally if you are looking for my help I have several conditions; First, you must be serious in your intent to finish your story-I am not a fan of people who waste my time. Second, I must see a genuine effort for you to be improving your writing, I am all for helping, but I am not a spell check, if I keep seeing the same mistakes repeatedly by chapter 25 after I have mentioned them to you...it's going to annoy me. And third, I am not there to write your story for you, helping and guiding sure but the ideas are supposed to mainly be yours, so don't ask me to make story altering desicions that may or may not get me lynched by angry readers and fans. Bottom line is this, if you are genuine and serious about your writing I will do what ever I can to help you out. But if you waste my time you're just going to make me mad. I love to read new ideas and see creative stories in the works so don't be afraid to ask...be afraid if you post a story and get flames and insults because your grammer and spelling are bad. Don't be scared to seek help, it ultimately makes you a better writer and creative thinker.

My strengths...hmmm, bottom line is that I am anal retentive about grammer and spelling in stories. I am very good about catching mistakes with bad/incorrect grammer and spelling simply because it irritates me so much. I have also been told on more than one occasion that I am relatively eloquent. I have a realatively large vocabulary that I love to use, and I LOVE dictionaries if I don't know a word I look it up. So you can always be sure that you are using the right word at the right time.

My major weakness I must admit is that I speed read sometimes. If the material that I am editing is so riddled with errors it tends to drive me a little nuts and I tend to speed read through to end the torture all the faster. This is how I tend to miss obvious things that I am later kicking my own butt for. So if there is something you want me to edit, and are worried there are a lot of mistakes let me know before hand, this way I know to take my time with it.

PLEASE no OC personalities. It makes for grasping and understanding the story a big pain in my butt. I am willing to try any genre at least once, but like I said PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, no OC characters.

I will not edit poetry, I'm sorry if this upsets you, I love poets and I love poetry. But poetry is supposed to be and expression of a person(s) feelings and thoughts, when I try to edit poetry I end up turning it into my thoughts and feelings and that takes away from you as a poet.
