Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hello, I'm Sabrina! My betareading style is definitely heavily focused on grammar, punctuation, pacing, and if it's wanted feedback about the plot and staying in character. At least for the characters that I'm familiar with. I'd definitely like for the submitted entries to be 75k or less. I am open to working with beginners or those whose second language is English. Speaking of language, English happens to be the only one I am fluent in. I absolutely love Harry Potter, and I'm open to pretty much any pairing. I also love Big Bang Theory, Repo! The Genetic Opera, and any kind of abstract horror you can throw at me. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm educated/ versed in: mythology, creative writing, technical psychology and sociology terminology, medical terminology, and biology. I am a college student with many classes under my belt including advanced creative non- fiction, technical writing, several psychology classes, as well as a base sociology course. I'm familiar with Harry Potter, Heroes, American Horror Story, Girls, Gotham, a couple of animes, many horror movies, Repo! The Genetic Opera, Twilight, The Hunger Games, and The Pure Trilogy. I can't list them all here, but you can always ask if you're curious. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I suffer from the dreaded writer's block from time to time. I'm also, admittedly, terrible with spelling certain words. They are usually the larger, trickier ones but it should still be kept in mind. There are also certain subjects that might or will trigger me. They will be listed below in the "Not MY Cup Of Tea" section. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I love it when a story is more abstract and poetic, but that definitely isn't a requirement. I'll love pretty much any genre you throw at me, I'm not too picky in that area. I'm also completely okay with smut for the sake of smut, as much as I am an intricate long- winded story. Favorite Characters to read: Hermione Granger, Syler, Violet Harmon, Severus Snape, and Haymitch Abernathy. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Anything: incest, heavily religious, with rape, or blindly laced with mysandry or misogyny. Moderately Triggering: incest Severely Triggering: rape, domestic violence, explicit child abuse (All of these are more of a "proceed with caution" kind of a thing.) |
