Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
First of all, I'm always honest, I'll tell you what you need, what you're good at and what you you seriously lack but I'm not exactly the harsh type or the one who always scold someone, so if you think you need someone rough enough to improve your skills, then you should find someone else. I'll read through the whole story about two or three times before I finish editing it. I have a thing for dialogues, a missing quotation mark and I just go crazy. Also, I hate words like "OMG" or "wat da hell", I want proper vocabularies in a story and I hate seeing these words. I don't really care if you tell me that this is a typical slang for teenagers or just a strange accent, I don't want to see unreadable or non-understandable words in a story. That's all, and lastly, you can call me Reiya. I tend to befriend everyone I meet, so you can talk to me like you're talking to a friend, I don't like those dull atmosphere, they are extremely awkward. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Humor, I like to add a hint of humor everywhere in the story, so that you can continue reading it without the urge to sleep. Plots, I might already be planning chapter 10 when I'm still at chapter 2, I enjoy stories with good plots and so I could always help when you need more plotting. Dialogues, I like to keep it funny, but make it serious when I have to. Adding sarcasm in dialogues always make the story more interesting, don't you agree? Also, A person's point of view, I could almost melt into the character's body and pretend I am the character, if you have a lot of "point of view"s, you've found the right guy...I mean girl. These are the genres I'm good at: General, Humor, Drama, Poetry, Mystery, Horror, Sci-fi, Fantasy, Hurt/Comfort, Friendship, Romance, Crime and Tragedy. Lastly, I use commas frequently and I always notice minor stuff. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My biggest weakness is transitions, it's sometimes hard for me to move from one scenes to another. Second, lemons, I can do slight lemon, I can deal with some lemons every paragraph, but don't ask me to write a whole chapter of lemons. Also, I have slight grammar problems, I live in Asia, English isn't our mother language. I like to rush straight into the point sometimes, since I'm a bit lazy, unless I really like the story. I apologize in advance. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
Horror, Humor, Mystery, Sci-fi, Fantasy, Romance and Tragedy. If your FanFic is made entirely for humor or horror, I'll be glad to accept it too. If you are making a FanFic of a song, remember to tell me the song and the singer, I'm extremely good at making plots from song. And if you want me to BetaRead something, tell me the whole plot first, I want to know what it's entirely about, if your story doesn't have a full plot, I'm always happy to help with it. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
No Yaoi, no Yuri. I don't hate it, but I just don't know how to write these. If your FanFic has LenXSomeone-else-instead-of-Rin, don't give it to me. I just can't see Len with someone else other than Rin. Major RinXLen supporter here, I just can't help it. Others are fine. And yeah, that's all. |
