I'm new to beta-reading. I'm interested in trying my hand at it as a way to gain greater insight into the fan fiction world. I have many years of experience as a writer (of non-fiction) and extensive experience editing copy, and I have been writing LOST fan fiction for nearly a year now.

I have a very strong grasp of word usage, grammar, and how to write clean copy that's not too cluttered or wordy. I write dialogue well, and I think I'm pretty good at writing characters in a way that sounds like them without relying too heavily on cliches/catch-phrases, etc.

I'm new at this, so there is that. And I'm not versed in a number of shows/movies that people might be writing fan fiction for. If I know the franchise you're writing about and the characters in it, I believe I can be of help.

I like stories that focus on plot, and an actual story with a beginning, middle and end.

Overly relationshippy stories, or those that are mostly about having the characters interact, but with no direction or plot. An exception would be stories meant to be absurd or a parody - I like a comic take on a story.
