Well, first off, I'm no stranger to the concept of betareading. My friend has written plenty of stories and sent them to me to look at for errors in punctuation, spelling, grammar, and other stuff. As somewhat of a "perfectionist," I look at everything about stories. At first, I look at the little details like the stuff I just listed; grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and then after that, I think about the story and think about how well it flows, the storytelling strength, and stuff like that. I expect other people to take writing seriously so that I can take them seriously too.

Being possibly the biggest grammar and spelling nazi I know, I'm very focused on making sure everything's "prim and proper." I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, and thus, I make sure to closely inspect the stories I read.

As a beta reader, however, I'm often afraid of sending bad advice, and the possibility that that in itself will result in me sending bad advice, so thus, I sometimes say less than I really should. Sometimes, of course.

It's really hard for me to say no and reject betareading something, so I'm open to anything, though I will admit that I have a soft spot for fluffiness in Romance or Hurt/Comfort stories. I'm also a sucker for tragedy and sadness stuff.

Well, I wouldn't just outright refuse to betaread a story, unless it looks appealing and I can take it seriously. Speaking of taking things seriously, this means I probably wouldn't be ideal for betareading Humor and Parody stories.
