I consider myself a competent editor. I have taken several classes, both at the high school and college level, which were heavy on proof-reading and revision of fiction writing. I feel as though I should give you a fair warning, I am very thorough in my beta-reading. I am honest, and I do not sugar-coat my reviews, but I am also constructive. I will never use the phrase "I hate this" and I will always suggest a way that I think the problem I encountered could be resolved. If you choose to use my services, expect an ear-full. I am not all criticism, however. I give praise where it is due, and I always point out where I see something that I particularly like. Overall, I strive for constructive criticism. I am specific in what I will or will not beta, based simply on my familiarity with the subject matter and knowledge of the cannon. These are not set in stone, though. My strengths lie in character development and human description. I have a no-tolerance policy when it comes to Sues, but I can also offer suggestions to De-Sue characters. I have a strong sense of what is realistic for a person (Teenager or adult) to feel and think about. Beyond that, I also consider myself to be decent at plot and keeping it on track. Spelling and grammar are also a strong point for me.

Descriptions of scenery have always been tricky for me, as well as anything having to do with children and babies. In all honesty, I am not the person to ask if a younger character in your story is behaving realistically.

I mostly enjoy romance, fantasy, and friendship stories, but I'll also do adventure or drama. In the case of a romance story, I am accepting of both same-sex and opposite-sex pairings.

I would prefer not to beta for a horror, angst, or comfort/hurt piece. I do not enjoy horror as a general category, so how would I know what makes a good horror piece? Angst is just a trait that I find generally annoying. I should also warn you that 90% of the time, I don't enjoy crack pairings or unnecessary lemon.
