Hello, I'm Amara! As a forewarning, I am pretty selective with what I Beta read these days and I hope you do not take it personally if I reject your piece. I am an extremely busy person and can't juggle big work loads from Beta Reading along with the workload from my day to day life. I have a good eye and read in depth. I am very flexible and work with authors that have a specific idea in mind and can help in whatever way you need. I give constructive criticism and try not to sound rude about what I have to say. The way I beta is I read through it once and make a general idea of the piece. From there I reread it and thoroughly look for mistakes in spelling, grammar, etc. I reread once again and brainstorm how to make it better. I make comments withing the writing and usually highlight those comments. I am going to say this now, you don't have to take my ideas and use them. If you don't like an idea, you don't have to use it. I'm here to help out. At the end of a chapter I will leave comments that I have in mind that I didn't make in the writing. Usually they are ideas on how to develop the plot more or any other ideas that I may have. If I reject your proposal to beta your piece, please don't take it personally. I have a good reason to reject it and I'm sorry that I have to.

My specialty is development of plot (this includes twists), characters, etc. I will fix any conflicting details from a book, movie etc. that you are writing on. Its one of my pet peeves so I will fix something like that. I can catch most misuse of words. I can easily catch simple errors in spelling and grammar usage. To put it simply, I help with the content of a story and try to make it more enjoyable and worthwhile.

I know most rules of grammar and punctuation but I can't always catch them. I will assume you have checked your spelling so I usually won't correct those.

I am sad to say I don't do poetry. I love it but I have no clue how to write it. Other than that I will do almost anything. If I don't know a particular story that you are writing on, it may be hard for me to understand what is happening so I may reject your offer. If I do, please don't take it personally.
