I'm pretty flexible as a beta reader, and turnaround time depends on the time of year: slower during the spring/fall and quicker during the summer and winter.

If a fic is large, I'd prefer it to be handed out in chunks :D

If you want me as a research monkey, note that turnaround might be longer than say proofreading, depending on what information you need.

- I have a solid grasp of 'proper' English: I can find and correct spelling & grammar errors/inconsistencies. I tend to use that extra U in words (neighbour, etc) but can revert to American spelling easily enough if needed/wanted.

- I enjoy details, descriptive scenes, historical accuracy and futuristic 'realism'. Stories that require research of some sort are my favourite.

- I'm one of those annoying people that watches a random action (or whatever) movie and points out all the things that couldn't happen like that.

- I have some trouble with writing _good_ dialogue - I can tell you if it doesn't sound right, but I have a hard time helping that get fixed.

- I enjoy details, descriptive scenes, historical accuracy and futuristic 'realism'. Stories that require research of some sort are my favourite and I'm perfectly willing to help an author out with it, whether it be historical or otherwise.

- Satires and humourous stories are a close runner up.

Stories with a lot of explicit 'romance' have to be EXTREMELY well written or I'll skip those parts. I loose interest too quickly with smut, and I really don't give a damn about how amazing soandso's manhood is. Really.

I'm not a huge fan of slash, but as long as it isn't super explicit I'll still read it.
