Hi. I've written quite a lot here, and I enjoy reading other people's stuff, and I really like to talk shop with other writers, thus—I would love to beta read for folks around here.

If I end up beta-ing your piece, I'll generally have a review back to you within a few (2-4) days. I am honest but not unkind; my writeup will tend to be a substantial letter including the scenes I liked best, stuff that's really working, etc, along with things that need fixing, and ideas for fixing it. If I think this means adding a lot more scenes, or drastically restructuring your piece, I will say so.

Remember, I'm not your boss; if you see some of my suggestions and decide you don't like them (you want to fix the issue a different way, or you simply don't think it's an issue at all), you're not going to upset me or hurt my feelings. You have to do what you think is best for your story. I only ask that you seriously consider what I'm saying before you decide to dismiss it.

Upon request, I'll generally be happy to read over subsequent revisions of a piece, in case you do decide to overhaul things substantially.

I'm not very good at boasting about myself, but feel free to peek at any of the fics I've written to get an idea of my writing strengths. I like to think I've got a good idea of how to make a story "flow" nicely/smoothly and how to do realistic characterizations.

I'm not going to nitpick every spelling error, grammatical flub, questionable word choice, etc. I'll point out obvious ones as I notice them, of course, but I really prefer to talk about larger structural issues (i.e. "does this story flow well?") and characterization issues ("is this character behaving in a consistent, believable manner?").

I enjoy reading Tellius (Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn) fic best, and know the canon quite well. I'm happy to beta Magvel (Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones), The Last of Us, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy IX, and Dragon Age: Inquisition, though I am not hyper-familiar with those 'verses the same way I am with Tellius, so my focus will be more on the story's structure and less on adherence to canon.

I especially like genfic in all fandoms.

I generally don't care for self-inserts or OC characters, though you can feel free to send it my way anyways—I'll tell you if it's not my kind of thing.
