Hello, Stormplains here. I'm a long-time member and always love help to try and improve stories. If I get you as a beta, I will do my best to read your chapter in a timely manner (if I'm not moving fast enough, send me a PM).What you should understand:
I'm more about making sure your characters are fully thought out, and don't all act the same way.
I'll do some grammar stuff, spelling, awkward construction, that sorta thing, but I'm more concerned with your characters and your writer's voice.
I will try and help you mature your writer's voice if that's what I feel is necessary, and will give my opinion on writing styles. But ultimately, you should still write in a way that is comfortable to you.
I will not do anything to change the plot of your story (but I will make comments if stuff doesn't make sense). Please feel free to torture me emotionally with your plotlines. If you need help or suggestions, I am willing to help then, but will try to leave plot up to you.
If I am not sucked into a story, I may have a hard time beta-ing. It will not mean anything against you. It only means I don't think I could help you very much.
Lastly, paragraph writing style irks me to death. I respect it, but I have a difficult time reading it, so for our mutual good, if that's what you prefer I recommend someone else.
