Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Okay. So, I love to read other peoples work and would be honored to look over pieces before they have been posted. I hope that as a beta-reader I can help to improve your story, catch mistakes you might not have while writing or proof-reading (something I...uh...don't really do on my own stuff... but i promise I'll be a good proof-reader for your story ), and help you to being your ideas to life. All you need is that, an idea, an inspiration, and a general knowledge of which direction you want to go. I don't need to have seen the show, but if it is a shorter series I can watch it if you feel this is necessary. However, if you are taking an approach which your story can be read by anyone who has the time to do a little research, that would be great. I enjoy helping to develop characters, create titles, situations, and the setting if help is needed. Hell, I'll help you make a plot if you want. And, throughout your process, I'll be there to cheer you on! So, don't worry if you're planning on writing a story that you'll still be updating after a year or two, I'll do my best to be a great beta! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am usually pretty good at scraping up something from nothing. If you need help on what to do with your plot, I'll definitely be able to make up some (hopefully) good possibilities. I won't force any corrections on you because I know I always disagree with at least one suggestion I get, however, I'll make sure to catch all technical errors (spelling, punctuation, yada yada, yada). Also, I'm fairly fast at correcting and should be able to get back to you quickly. I can't say I'll be the best beta, but I'll TRY my best. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I can get bored easily if I don't like the style of writing and because of my own style of writing, I often break grammar rules (although intentionally). Lemon's aren't my strong suit, but as they say, practice makes perfect. I'm more of a Kagome freak and would rather help beta a story about her, and lastly, while I've been writing for a while, I haven't 100% found myself as a writer yet. However, that shouldn't have influence on my ability to beta. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I like action, romance (but not complete romance drama, you gotta add something else entertaining in there), angst, drama, and I'd love to try mystery (although I've never really explored writing this genre). You can message me to see if I am interested . Also, I'm KAGOME all the way. Sorry. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Dont give me the predictible plot. I want something origional or with a BIG twist. I'm not really into tragedy as of yet. I far prefer that happy ending. |
