I like editing stories and find that a second pair of eyes, those of a stranger, catch things the writer originally does not. I both edit and write and passionately enjoy both. What I can say about my editing technique is that it is incredibly thorough. I do not simply read through and give you a response, rather I trek through your writing and highlight what can be improved but also what you are doing right. At the end of your story I will leave notes expanding on my comments throughout the work. And if you want to talk to me about these comments, then we will talk about them. br /

Also, though I know most people on here are delicate, lovely flowers, but I do not want to edit for someone only for them to become defensive and fight with me. I am as intimidating as a snail but I will not tolerate anger with my criticism. Know that I am not trying to anger you, only help you and help your story grow strong. Please be willing to accept some criticism with a well mannered smile. br /

I am a hound at picking up flow and word choice. What I can assure you is that I will go through your work thoroughly with a keen eye. I will read through your story more than once and go through the changes I have advised to make sure my judgement was correct. I give both constructive and positive feedback concerning the way a sentence is structured, spelling, or use of punctuation; a spoonful of sugar with one of medicine. I understand how pestering it is sometimes to have large pieces of something you have written rewritten entirely or deleted. I may advise you to alter a paragraph but unless you personally ask me to I will not rewrite it. There are times I may add in a suggestion, a sentence of my own I think fits, but it is up to you whether to keep it. Finally, I will not forget that this is your story and not mine.

I would say weakness and time. Sometimes I am not very forceful and will only advise when I want to insist. I am kind of, sort of, entirely a meek person. I am sure however this will improve with more editing experience. My lack of time sometimes results in stories taking a long while to be edited. I will email you to keep in touch if I think something is going to be late. If none of that bothers you, or you too find you take two years to brew a cup of tea, then soldier on and consider us alike.

I have, and do, read near anything but like everyone I have preferences. I enjoy reading things that are quite dark, perhaps offensive, terrifying and filled with interesting little bits and pieces. I am a big fan of terror, and general tragedy. What I have labelled as my categories are the ones I am much preferred to do, however there are many many more. And I don't mind sexually explicit material. I read it leisurely.

I have some things I will not go near with a ten foot pole as a Beta reader or reader in general. There's Mpreg, OOCness (to a certain point), family stories, and soppy romance. If your story incorporates any of these, let me know so I can judge whether I can handle it. So, that's all from me.
