Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I have a lot of free time on my hands right now, and I find that I love helping people improve their writing skills. I love helping people flesh out their stories and make stronger characters/plots. I can be a bit of a grammar nazi at times. I love detail in stories, but I always try not to go overboard with it and end up making the story dry and dull as a result. I was taught not to use 15 words when 10 will suffice, thus I tend to strive for better wording verses long run on sentences. I was also taught not to repeat the same word over and over again in the same paragraph. Find a synonym for the word that you regularly use and it will make a better story, plus your readers will thank you for it later. |

If you asked me what my strongest area of writing would be, I would have to say grammar. I am a bit of a grammar nazi, so if you feel like your sentences run on a lot, or you're just not sure when to use a semi-colon verses a comma; I can help you learn how to fix that and become a better writer. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My number one weakness as a writer is that I run into writers block a lot. I begin a story and I get part way into it and then the chapters become harder to compose because ideas don't flow as easily as they did in the beginning; yet I'm constantly coming up with plans for new plots. Once an idea does come, I generally don't have too much of a problem getting the chapter written, it's just that sometimes I go 6 months without an update for my readers because I just don't know what to write. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I primarily read/write about subjects from the books, movies, and TV shows sections of the page because those are the things I know most about. As to which rating, I read them all, though most of my own fics are rated T or M. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I have never read a Manga in my life and so I really can't say that I would be of any help there as I wouldn't know any of the characters of which you write. I have no preference as to rating. |
