I'm a perfectionist - errors in writing make my eye twitch. I decided to become a beta reader in order to indulge my inner editor without being reduced to wrestling essay drafts away from my younger siblings. The way I work with writers is that they send me a copy of their work, I go through it and correct it, I message them with my comments and any questions I have and then send it back.

I'm good with grammar, spelling and sentence structure. I can nitpick the plot and give suggestions to improve it, and I pay special attention to details in the story. I make sure to explain the corrections I make. I can help make a story flow more naturally. I'm flexible and patient, and can work with the writer's schedule.

I'm Australian, so I generally use Commonwealth spelling. I can switch to American spelling if need be, but I sometimes slip up. If you catch me substituting 's' for 'z' or inserting superfluous 'u's, just tell me gently but firmly to stop it. Another thing that some may regard as a weakness is that I can be fairly blunt. My comments and corrections will always be polite and designed to improve your story, but I'll rarely offer praise unless you do something truly exceptional. My aim is to provide constructive criticism, not cheerleading.

I'm a big fan of slash, though I also enjoy het, gen and femmeslash.

No incest, non-con, BDSM, m-preg, threesomes or infidelity (as the main pairing, it's OK as a source of relationship angst).
