Beta Description
Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I started writing fanfiction when I was about 16 with my story titled "Kidnapped" (it was a CSI crossover). I'm not really sure what got me interested in fan fiction exactly. It just seemed like something fun to do, so I started. As a beta reader, I will try to find as many mistakes as I can and will let you know. I'll tell you will somehow benefit or, at the very least, compliment you. The shows I've been watching a lot of lately and like are The Voice, America's Got Talent, and NCIS (actually, not so much NCIS, but I still like that show plenty).
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I can tell you when I think I see a misspelled word or if a sentence dosen't sound quite right or if there seems to be a hole in the plot that I catch. If I know the charecters you are working with well enough, then I could also help you find what, to me, seems like a charecter flaw in the story. For example, if what you have them saying in the story isn't quite how they would say it in the series.
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Elboration isn't necessarily that strong for me. I can try if you ask me to, but I can't necessarily guarantee much.
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I know all three versions of CSI, NCIS, the Twilight series (by Stephanie Meyer), Touched By An Angel, The X Files, Reba, The Twilight Zone, The Hunger Games, House of Night, Star Trek: The Next Generation, The Boxcar Children, and The Dukes of Hazzard so if anyone who has a story in one of those categories and wants to send me it to beta read, feel free to. They would be a little bit more of "specialties" I guess you can say. I could also be able to help some for M*A*S*H, Monk, Alias, and Without A Trace although I don't know those series as well seeing as I haven't watched as much of those series. I could try to help you with something outside of these, but I'll be more limited if I don't have a real good idea of what's normal for the series, movie, etc.
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Overly sexual stories are not something I really want to be reading at any time. A scene here or there is one thing, I just don't want have seemingly the whole story being about sex or have two people always wanting to have sex with each other. Stories that contain so much cussing that it almost seems like it's every other word are a negative for me. I might make an exception for one if there's a charecter is like that normally and there isn't a whole lot of working around it, but that could get subjective still. I also don't want to beta slashes. Those have a tendency to weird me out...at least of the ones that I had started trying to read have.
