I'll do a cursory glance over your work first before I even start beta'ing. There are certain limits that I'm willing to go to: First, the story should already be of good quality. I'm not here to do the work for you, just to tidy up any little errors that you've missed the first time through. Second, you must be committed to finishing the damn thing. I've read too many good pieces on this site that suddenly just stopped with not explanation, no message saying why they've stopped. When you send chapters to me, I want to see the one that comes after it and the one after that. I want to see a finished story! Third, and finally, DON'T TAKE MY CORRECTIONS AS LAW! Challenge my corrections if you don't think they work, send the chapter back to me showing where you think it should stay the same and tell me why. Who knows? Maybe you'll convince me. This is a TEAM effort!

You've made a spelling mistake? I'll find it.

A sentence doesn't work? I'll highlight and suggest.

As for categories, my knowledge of Code Geass is pretty fresh (not to mention I have my own theory on how Lelouch survived) and anything Gundam provided I have the time to look a few things over (anime primarily, manga add ons or prequels will require further research).

Harry Potter is also something I know quite a bit about as well.

I can also help with stories in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Doctor Who, Castle, Game of Thrones (TV or Book version).

My writing style is preferably third person past tense, however I can easily adapt to other styles of presentation. First person and even second person are rather simple once I've had a moment to have a look at the story.

A paragraph doesn't seem to do anything for the story? I'll damn well tell you it doesn't and ask you to justify why.

Characterisation. That is not my area of expertise. YOU know the personality you've given specific characters, I don't. Unless I know why a certain character is acting a certain way, I won't be able to do anything.

The overall story. I can give minimal help in terms of how events unfold but again, YOU know the story, YOU know how it's going to end, YOU know who's going to live and who's going to die and how. All I can do is maybe smooth it out a bit.

Nothing shorter than ten chapters, and even then the story should be reaching the twenty-thousand word mark at least. I find I work better with bigger stories. Wordy sentences with a lot of description are where I work best - usually 'cos tats were al teh mistaks r!

General stories work nicely, because they fit any genre so I can work with that.

Do NOT ask me to do a horror piece.

Short stories are a nightmare for me, simply because every word in that has to count. With longer pieces I have room to manuever. Which is why I will NEVER do a one-shot or a poem.
