I prefer a writer with some experience, although I am always open to new writers, too. Also I am new to whole beta thing, although I have taken Comp. 1 & 2 at college and all AP English through high school. I also write my own stuff, too. My personal style reading is different from my writing style. I wouldn't change something if I don't like the writing style. In other words I look for errors and leave the rest of the project alone unless asked to do otherwise. I am huge on communication between writer and beta-reader for I feel it's essential for a good story. I am also fan of Docx because it will make the beta process easier for both the writer and me. I can beta some other fanfics not on my in preference list. I have read a lot of novels. I also didn't list some manga, which I have read.

My strong points are in working out plots and ideas. I love to give suggestion on anything from character to how to make it more dramatic. English is my first and only language, so that may be helpful. I also study all types of cultures, so I can help with cultural related problems as well. Oh, I am a perfectionist, too. I normally catch most major errors in grammar. I almost always catch errors in capitalization and punctuation.

Grammar and spelling isn't my strong point. I also get annoy with misspelling, because computers have spell check for a reason. I am horrible spelling, but with spell check you would never know. Also text shortcuts like u and 2 get on my nerves, unless of course it's in context like in text message or note in the story. I am also slow because I have college, work, and various other activities. It should hopefully only take two or three days.

I prefer romance, humor, manga, and anime. My favorite type of manga/anime is shoujo and josei, although I read all types. If I haven't heard of it I'll look it up.

I won't read slash, yuri, yaoi, shoujo ai, and shounen ai. I also don't beta lemons, explicit sex scenes, and rape. Gore and language isn't a problem, although I won't read the killing of innocence people for no reason at least not with any details. Saying a character went on a killing spree is fine as long you don't go into any gory details.
