I enjoy reading, but something that can get annoying, are those pesky little mistakes that can end up ruining a story/the mood, I mean right now there might be a mistake in here that'll put you off choosing me, so I figure I'll try and fix this, one story at a time. I like helping people out so this is defiantely something I'll pay a lot of attention to.

When beta-reading a story, I'll try to be very careful to catch as many grammar and spelling mistakes, and any other such mistake in use of language, though I do expect you to make an effort yourself in this. I also like to make sure that characters in a story stay 'In Character' as it were, after all, who would believe something along the lines of a single Imperial Guardsman destroying a bloodthirster in one on one combat, or that a vespid stingwing is scared of flight (sorry for the purely warhammer 40k references if you don't know what I'm talking about, they're the best examples that came to mind). If appropriate, I won't be averse to offering my advice or opinion on how to improve the story too.

Expectations ... hard to outline I suppose, it would be more on a case to case basis.

Use of English.

Writing conversations, especially among multiple people which can get confusing if done in certain ways.

Moving the story along.

Writing combat scenes, whether shooting or hand to hand, tanks, though not as good at space battles.

... yeah hard to think of, I know, especially so as not to sound like boasts.

Writing descriptions, always end up writing story rather than spending time on descriptions.

Sticking to something, I can't tell you how many time my '29th Cadian' story changed over the course of its writing.

I like stories with a strong plotline and that don't 'beat around the bush' ... as it were, other than that, there aren't really any firm lines.

I don't like stories that have weak plot or too much description but i wouldn't necessarily not beta-read them, its a toss up really, and depends on the story its self.
