I'm new to beta-reading in general, but I'm an experienced editor for my school newspaper. If you send me a story to beta-read, I'll check the grammar and things of that sort, I'll make sure your story makes sense, and I'll make sure your story is written in such a manner that it appeals to a lot of readers. To do so, I'll give you a list of any grammatical errors after looking it over and some tips on how to make it better. If it's already perfect, good for you! You're an awesome author!

I'm good at finding most spelling and grammar errors, and as for making the story better, I have a good vocabulary and can give word replacement suggestions. Other than that, the only area I really excel at is making sure there's voice in the story, if necessary.

I'm really new to the beta-reading community, and obviously, I'll have to learn by experience. As for grammar, I've had a few problems with capitalization, but my worst area overall is paragraphing. If someone was to ask me to find the right places to start a new paragraph in a story, I probably wouldn't be able to do it right.

I would prefer to have stories in these categories because I'm very familiar with them; however, I can do other categories because these aren't the only ones I'm familiar with:

My preferred genres are general, humor, parody, romance, suspense, horror, and AU, although I'll do any genres.

I'm not really any good at editing poems, and I don't really like any classic 20th century literature, so I doubt I'll do a good job on either of those.
