To sum up my style in one word: thorough. I don't just proofread for spelling and grammar errors. I'll nitpick at your wording, your dialogue, your characterization, your plot. Let me get ahold of your fic, and I'll slap my opinions all over it.

But... They're just my opinions, my recommendations, and in the end it's your choice to use them or not. I'm not going to be offended if you don't change something. My personal writing style is probably different than yours, and I respect that. All I ask in return is that you respect the time and effort I put in.

My remaining expectations are simple. Don't slack off just because you're using a beta. Read over what you've written, do some proofreading of your own, and PLEASE use your spell-checker. It's there for a reason.

Four years of advanced English classes in high school have given me a good handle on the technical aspects of writing. And the creative writing courses I took in college have helped me hone my skills in a number of areas. In short, I'm pretty well-rounded.

But my strenghts definitely lie more in the creative than the technical. I have a talent for eloquence. I'll take your simple sentence and make it sound pretty.

And if you can't quite find the right word, just leave it to me. My friends call me "The Human Thesaurus."

I have a tendency to treat everything I beta as if it were something I wrote. Which is good, in terms of dedication, but not necessarily good for your own, personal style. So I'll depend on you to keep me in check. Like I said before, I won't be offended if you choose not to use some of my suggestions. This is why.

I prefer the dramatic/angsty/serious stuff. But I'll read just about anything, so long as it has some sort of plot or you've at least put some thought into it. And I have no problem with smut, yaoi, or any other potentially offensive subject matter. I'm pretty much un-offendable.

Also, I'd prefer to read shorter fics. I'm a busy person with a lot of my own projects in the works, so I can't always guarantee speedy beta-reading, and I'd hate to hold up your fic. If you're okay with some potential slowness, however, I certainly won't say no to longer fics.

I'm not big on romantic fluff or pure humor. I'm picky about AU's. I'll only read cross-overs if I'm familiar with both fandoms. And if your fic includes OC's you'd best be prepared to have them picked apart. I LOATHE Mary Sues, and if I see any sign of such a thing, I will let you know it in no uncertain terms. And then help you fix it.
