It pains me to no end to see good fics posted on the site, and having to decipher them through the author's spelling and grammar mistakes. It takes away from the story itself, it really does, no matter how completely amazing the plot may or may not be. And I tend to stumble upon a lot of fics like that on a site like this, so it gets to be more than a nuisance sometimes.

If English is not your first language, I can beta your stories so that they look like you've known English your entire life (or you've at least taken extensive English classes and are a master linguist). I can phrase sentences so that they fit the English grammar and spelling rules perfectly. I can also give you ideas if you find yourself experiencing some writer's block and ask for them, but I warn you now, quality plot devices aren't my specialty.

I am free to beta fics any time, unless I am an Hiatus or Unactive, which shouldn't happen often. Most of the time, though, I'm free. If you want your fic beta'd and back to you in a hurry, you will have better luck sending it to me on a weekend. I'll still do it on weekdays, it just might take a few days.

I also have nothing against slash of any kind (within reason), just throwing that out there.

Fixing spelling and/or grammatical errors is really where I shine. I read things through time and time again to make sure none of those stupid little mistakes escape my attention, and it's a strategy that seems to work pretty well for me.

Also? I don't write much of my own fic anymore (a mix of RL and lack of inspiration, you know how it is), so the time I spend on FF is devoted almost entirely to reading and editing nowadays. My free time equals your piece getting back to you that much sooner.

Lastly. Say English happens to be your second (or third) language and you're worried about phrasing things in such a way as to make them sound genuine, I can do that. I'm not a master Brit-picker, but the basics there are things that I can definitely fix.

I'm a perfectionist, although that could be either a strength or a weakness. I need things, especially grammar and spelling, to be exactly right. Pointing out characterization errors and/or plotholes isn't where I excel, although I can act as a pretty decent sounding board if needed.

Any of the fandoms mentioned above, I'll do. Oneshots or relatively short chapters are my specialty (and by this? I mean things that don't have 9000+ words per chapter and 25 chapters or something).

Case!Fics. It's all good if it's in a fandom (see; Supernatural, House, Fringe) that more or less need a case or at least mentions of a case to stay canon, but expository narratives really aren't my thing. (Also, I should mention, if we're talking Supernatural, extreme NC-17 Wincest isn't preferred.) Other than that, I'm ready and willing.
