I find that very often I read stories that I see could use some improvement, even if it's just a bit of punctuation to make them much more enjoyable for the reader. I have a Bachelors Degree in English and am therefore painfully aware of incorrrect grammar and tense use, and know far more than any normal person should about the correct use of punctuation. As a beta-reader, I like to read the whole chapter first to get a feel for where the story is going and then go back and make any changes. It helps if the writer is working a chapter or so ahead in the story to allow for setting up the future story. I cannot promise to be the quickest beta-reader, but I can certainly promise to be as painstakingly accurate as possible. I do expect that my suggestions/improvements/changes be given serious consideration.

I am sometimes too honest in my reviews which may lead some to take offense. However, I am never cruel. I do not believe in criticism for criticism's sake. As mentioned above, grammar, punctuation and spelling are all big in my book and I am strong in all of them. Nothing annoys me more than no quotation marks, no capitalization and the wrong use of homonyms...e.g. i no what your thinking....instead of... I know what you're thinking.

I may not be the quickest, but I will be accurate.

I prefer to read stories for Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and my latest obsession, Twilight, but I am open to other categories. I do prefer romance, general and happy tales rather than angsty dramas, but again, I can read them all. Tasteful M rated stories are my preference...I am a grown up after all ;-)

The only place I draw the line is slash stories. I am a firm believer in 'to each his own'...they're just not mine...
