Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hi! Okay, so basically, I'll read most anything. When I beta your story, I'll think to myself about what can be changed, and I try to be nice, really I do, but if something I say strikes you the wrong way, just tell me. I like pretty much all pairings within reason, of course...I mean, I wouldn't want to beta/read something that ships for Isshin/Yuzu from Bleach...because that's serious incest, and that's not my cup of tea, but I will read/edit pretty much anything else.Also, my stories that I have posted? They're from a LONG time ago, and they're bad, really bad. Don't be like, 'You tell me this, but look at this story you posted!' I know, and I intend to repost my older stories. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Spelling, plot, and grammar/punctuation, I'm a bit OCD about mechanics, really...If your story has the wrong forms of 'their' and 'there' or 'your' instead of 'you're', I will point them out. I have a big vocabulary, probably because I read a lot. (Too much, really. Far too much.) |

I kind of procrastinate- I'm in school and I do get a lot of homework, so please be somewhat patient with me if my responses are somewhat late. Also, if I make a lot of changes or just change something that you don't like, such as something to do with plot or character development, just tell me and I'll back off, and you should change it back. It's all up to you; I'm just a second opinion ;] |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I would prefer to read romantic things or things relating to love, whether it's unrequited, returned, or just plain angst- fluff and angst are right up my alley. I also love reading funny stories or parodies. I would basically want to read a story with some sort of plot that relates somewhat to the book/movie/play/etc, I don't really like when stories veer off into nowhere, although I do make exceptions. Stories about death, rape, brooding, I'm fine with those too (I'm not sure whether I should say I like them...). I like mysteries too.br /br / Lemons, limes, yaoi, yuri, het, etc. are all things I'm cool with and like reading, and I'm perfectly willing to beta them, but bear in mind, I have no sexperience, so I mightn't be the greatest of help in those cases ^_^ |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I wouldn't want to read stories with absolutely no plot unless it's supposed to be a crackfic or a parody- I'm fine with those. I also don't want to beta any smut or lemons; I can read them, but I cannot write or edit them. (Note: This doesn't mean that I DO read them, it's just that I can) I also wouldn't want to read stories that are so OOC that it's basically different characters with the same names. I mean, seriously. If you come up with an 'original' plot, why not take the time to develop it yourself instead of using names from an existing book/movie/etc.? |
