Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
WHO I AM AS A BETAREADER: I'm great! No, seriously: I've never had any complaints. I really like to betaread and help other fellow writers to make their fics the best they can be. I'll correct any mistake - ponctuation, grammar, cohesion, etc - and, if you ask me to, I can try and give you some ideas. But only if you ask me to, I don't like to pry. MY BETAREADING STYLE: Well, I'm quite direct and objective, but never rude. You'll never hear from me things like 'your stuff suck, just re-write all of it'. When I correct anything, I just put correct the word or phrase between () and in red. And if I have something more to add, I just leave a comment on the side. Oh, and yeah, I use Word stuff to betaread. It's much cleaner, I believe. That's why I prefer to exchange docs via mail, and not ff's docx thing. EXPECTATIONS OF ANYONE THAT WISHES TO ACQUIRE MY SERVICES (no pun intended): You should expect a clean, rigorous and fun betareading :D |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
- Ponctuation (I have a thing with comas :$), grammar and textual cohesion and coherence, not only with the plot itself, but also with whatever world the said is based on; I'm available every day of the week, and my own fics won't get in the way beacause I only like to write them from midnight until dawn (I'm a night creature!). And finally, as I already said, my first language is Portuguese, so I'm better with that; however, I speak English since I was 2 and I just spent for months in ERASMUS speaking only that. So, modesty aside, I'm quite good at it too. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not conceited (to tell you the truth, I'm very nice and friendly!), but you may think that I am just beacuse the way I write. Sorry about that. And I simply HATE stupid errors, the ones people make not because their finger hit the wrong key on the keyboard, but because they don’t KNOW how to write whatever word correctly. So I can nag you a little bit about that, if that's your case :p |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I like when stories have a little bit of everything: romance, some drama, anguish, comedy, action, suspense and one death or another to spice things up a little. And I don't mind betaread slash, yaoi, yuri, etc etc. Rainbow power it's fine by me :D |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I will NOT betaread: Draco Malfoy being fluffy (NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS!); Sasu/Naru, Sasu/Itachi, Kakashi/Iruka, Yamato, Sasuke, Naruto (you name it) - nope. Sasuke must die all alone and I like Kakashi too much to let him be gay :$ |
