As a betareader I am honest and thorough. I respect that you have your own vision to share with your audience, but I will communicate to you as best I can if your point is being lost or if your story seems scattered. The only thing I expect from the author is an open /br /br /

If you have a typo, I will change it, but I will also highlight it so you know it was changed. I won't reword a sentence for you, but I will place a note in parenthesis with a suggestion or reason why it should be changed. I want to help the author and story grow, and that simply can not happen if I do everything for you and you never see what it is that was wrong, you follow? I am a big fan of proof reading more than once, because even in editing other mistakes can come up when you start changing plot points or deleting full paragraphs. Once you make your edits or changes, I prefer to read through it once more before you publish it. Not only to double check you as the author, but to double check myself as your BETA and make sure everything is as it should be. :)

I am a human thesaurus. In my own writing, I hate nothing more than re-reading something and realizing I said the word 'hair' 10 times on one page. Examples? Soft locks, bright curls, pony tail, tendrils, etc. Little things like that can really enhance the way your story is imagined by the /br /br /

Flow. If something is out of character/context I am very skilled at noticing it. The fandoms I have added myself to as a BETA I know backwards and forwards and can easily point out character flaws. Making sure the story is told in the correct tense/POV is also a pet peeve of mine. Things like this example: "She is listening to music, but then sat down and turned it off." These kind of errors do not get by me. /br /br /

Emotions are also a strength of mine. I am good at keeping the tone of the story in line with where the author wants it to be. If you want to write an angsty love story about two people who can't get it right, but it reads as a bunch of lifeless dialogue, I can fix /br /br /

Details and descriptions are probably my best skill. I LOVE me some detail!

I am not that great at coming up with plot points and it usually takes a couple of read throughs to catch continuity. Dialogue structure is my weakest point by far, I can fix most basic grammatical errors and if something doesn't sound right to me, I'll figure out why.
