I edit for a literary magazine, which means my beta-reading style tends to be detail-oriented. Generally, I will look over the text and make grammar/spelling edits as I go; then, once I've read it over, I'll give more general, theme- or content-related (i.e, bigger picture) feedback. Before beta-reading, I would appreciate it if the text could have been put through spellcheck to save time and devote more to deeper feedback.

I am best at the technical aspects (grammar, spelling, etc.) and a particular strength of mine is rearranging sentence structure and order to make sure your writing packs a punch before each period. I am also good at making dialogue sound more authentic, and at suggesting vocabulary choices to strengthen your sentences.

Content/theme-related feedback. I am reticent to interfere with the more creative aspect of writing; I am happy to provide my thoughts on a plotline or such, but I am not great at doing heavier editing regarding a story's development.

I love romances, especially Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione. I'm happy to beta-read smut, if that's what you like. I also love AUs and character-centric fics.

Fics that heavily feature OCs, or character x reader fics. I'm not too fond of canon divergences centered around original characters (i.e, what if Harry had a twin that went to Slytherin?), nor do I usually like fics that redeem Snape or ship him with any of his students.
