I've never beta-read before, but I've edited the original fiction of some of my friends, so I have some experience. I warn you, I'm fairly handy with my red pen.

I can spot most grammatical and spelling errors, and I'll keep an eye out for plot inconsistencies. Also, I'll make suggestions if you're stuck on the plot or the characters, etc.

Lack of tact, and I don't check my ff.net account very often.

I would prefer to beta stories within fandoms I'm familiar with. The Buffyverse, Harry Potter, and Star Trek are the ones I know best, but I know my way around The Lord of the Rings, Firefly, X-Men, Pirates of the Caribbean, and various others, mostly books and movies.

I'm not particularly versed in anime/manga unless it's Fruits Basket or Neon Genesis Evangelion; most of the American comics I know are independent, so don't assume I know anything about the Green Lantern, other than that there were around 2 of them and their special powers were based on a ring; and I don't watch much TV.

No noncon or semiconsual sex stories, please. I'm fine with slash, femslash, het, and gen.
