I am someone who reads a great deal of fanfiction, and have been reading it for the last couple of years. I am currently a college student. My particular college is in session from late August to December, with a one month break in January and then resuming in February until mid May. Usually the work load isn't too bad, and I will have sufficient time to go over your work. I will notify ahead of time in case I am unable to return the work in a timely manner.

If you are in need of my services, then I will require method of constant contact. I would greatly appreciate a conversation of the goals of your particular fanfic, and the general gist of the story, as well as how long it is. This is not necessary, but it will give me a general idea to your temperament, and what kind of writer you are. I believe this will build a certain amount of understanding between the two of us which will enable us to work better with each other.

I will go over any work that is sent to me with a critical eye, and will not hesitate to point out flaws in characterization or certain elements of the plot. I will not insult you, but some may find my method of editing a bit too harsh to work with. I will not point out spelling errors; but I do not tolerate chatspeak unless it has a certain purpose in the nature of your story. I will usually refrain from point out grammar, unless it involves changing sentence structure or it is a recurring and very troubling problem.

I am proficient in the discussion of plot and characterization. I am fairly good at research and am willing to help you in that area. However, I am greatly opposed to doing the bulk of the research.

Some may find my style of editing a bit too harsh for their liking. I can be highly critical of someone's work, but rest assured that I will not insult your style of writing. I am not a grammar perfectionist, and because of that there might be some mistakes in grammar that I might miss. This is not due to laziness, this is due to not being familiar with every prescriptive rule of grammar. All the obvious mistakes will be fixed, and if I am not completely sure about something, I will research it.

I would prefer to work with slash, but that is dependent on the fandom and pairing. I can work with het pairings, but that is again dependent on pairing and fandom. I am okay with beta-ing in any genre, but please read my Would Rather Not for exceptions. I enjoy reading AUs, and even crossovers.

I don't appreciate reading overly depressing fics. I don't mind reading angst, but only if is done without going overboard on the angst. (This is subjective, if you don't think it's going overboard, then send it to me and I'll decide.) I don't particularly like death fics.

I do not read rape fics of any kind. This is a hard limit. If there is a rape scene in your story, I will not bother with it if it is in graphic detail. I also do not like to read about sex with someone who is fourteen or younger, and am extremely uncomfortable with reading fic that deals with the BDSM and S&M lifestyle.

I don't mind crossovers, provided that they with fandoms that I am familiar with. The fandoms that I am willing to beta for are not the only ones that I am familiar with. You can look in my profile, for the list of the fandoms I am familiar with, or just PM me.
