I've been writing fanfiction for about four years, reading it for about five. I've been beta reading for over a year now and I'm really enjoying it. When I'm beta reading I will usually put suggestions in red capitals so that they are easy to see then I'll give general feedback at the end of the document. I betaread quite quickly, at the moment I'm managing to get things beta-read and back to the writer in a day or two. I'll look at all aspects of a fanfiction: characters, spelling, plot etc. and will usually read through a chapter/story twice before sending it back to you. If, after you've recieved my suggestions, you would like me to check over any changes you have made then I would be happy to do so.

I think one of my biggest strengths is that I read a lot. I've always got my head in a book, and this has greatly helped my English skills, I have an extensive vocabulary and read a wide range of genres and styles, in both fanfiction and novels. I'm pretty good at finding spelling mistakes and errors in grammar. If I know a fandom, then I know it really well, so I'll be able to help with characters, factual information etc. I can also spot if a character is OOC.
So far I have beta read for The Bill, Oceans 11, Inkheart, Thunderbirds and Starsky and Hutch, so I have experience with beta reading in these fandoms, however I've written for more fandoms than that and feel that I know them all well.

I'm not very good at spotting problems with plot. I'm fine with finding any major plotholes, but not so good at smaller issues. Another problem I have is with writing local dialects, although I should be able to tell you if there's a continuing problem.

I'll beta most things, I'm pretty open. I would prefer to beta the fandoms that I have selected in my preferences but will try my hand at almost anything, so there's no harm in asking.
I'm also open to slash, and have beta'd slash stories before.
