I've been writing and publishing fanfiction for almost six years now, and I'd like to try my hand at beta-reading. I've beta-ed a lot of my little sister's fics and a couple of my friends' fics, but I'd like to expand into the fanfiction world. I'm a tough critic, and I will tell you the truth, but I like to think I do it in a tactful way, rather than tell you your story sucks. I'm always ready to give things a second chance - I'll only tell you to scrap your story as a last resort; I'd much rather suggest ways to improve rather than to get rid of the whole thing altogether. However, if it is a truly dire fic, I'll say so, because if there's one thing I hate, it's reading awful fanfiction. I will be very nitpicky - when I beta things, I'll go over it again and again to ensure that it's the best it can possibly be. I don't stand for sloppy writing! If you do want me to beta your story, you've got to put the time and the effort in to making the best it can be, and in turn I will do the same for you.

I'm an absolute stickler for grammar and spelling. I hate OOC-ness - I can help keep characterisation and the storyline in check. I'm English, so if you're need help with keeping British-isms in your fic, I can help with that.

OCs. Difficult to beta, and even more difficult to write - I know that firsthand, but if you need me to beta one, I'll give it a go. Also, I like people to know the direction in which their story is going - if you don't know, then I won't know either.

I write Harry Potter fics, and I'm a huge Draco/Hermione fan, which I know some people find difficult to write. I'm also a fan of BtVS, LotR, and PotC, but I'm willing to beta any other fics, as long as I'm familiar with the characters.

I'm very flexible about what I beta, however I refuse to beta anything with rape, sexual abuse or explicit sex in. This is due to a traumatic experience of my own a few years ago, so PLEASE don't give me a fic with any of these in it. However, other than that I'm unshockable - violence, language etc I don't mind. I also won't beta fics if I don't know anything about the book/show/film - if I don't know the characters, I can't do the job well enough. Also, I'm not a massive Ron/Hermione fan, so I'd rather not beta fics focusing on their relationship, unless they're short ones.
