Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Well, to start off, I love fanfiction. I've always loved it, but just started writing for the site last year. I would like to beta read because I love seeing other's stories come to life. I have never had a beta-reader, but I would love to try to be one. If you want my beta-reading services, I ask that you PLEASE READ OVER YOUR WORK BEFORE HAND AND CHANGE ANY TYPOS, SPELLING, OR GRAMMAR PROBLEMS THAT YOU CAN BEFORE YOU SEND IT TO ME!!!!I am only there to aid your writing, not completely write if for you, so I won't tolerate silly mistakes that could have been corrected if the author had taken the time to read through their story a few times. Also, even though I am offering my beta-reading services, you do not have to take my advice if you do not wish to. Also, do not expect my editing to be perfect. There may be some things that I can not figure out and you may need to ask someone else for advice. I am also willing to help with plot, if you need it and an idea crosses my mind! My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am usually very good with description and well thought out story plots. I've been told many times that my writing style is unique, and it seemed to be well liked by several readers. So hopefully, I can bring some of that to other writers writing. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I am usually a little bad about finding a word to replace another word and sometimes I will have one sentence that sounds almost identical to another, but I HAVE improved A LOT! (If you read my fics, you'll see. Although most of my fics have been edited about three or four times by me.) I can also be bad with grammar if I am not careful when I am reading or writing, but I will do my best. I can assure you that most of my grammar and/or grammar problems are very minor, if they are present at all. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I am a huge yaoi fan, so that's what I prefer to write and read. I will read most yaoi pairings, but not all. I love Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy VII, Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto, Trigun, Outlaw Star, Saiyuki, Cowboy Bebop, Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha,Bleach, Ruroni Kenshin, Wolves Rain, Blood +, Death Note, Trinity Blood( though I'll warn you, I don't know this anime well, so I wouldn't suggest asking me about this one!!!!)Samurai Champloo, Harry Potter, and Wicked. I'll approve most genres, there aren't too many exceptions. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I don't really like yuri, so please don't ask. I have no problem with women being together, I just don't prefer reading or writing it. (Though I have made a few exception with Gelphie fics! It all just depends. I don't mind it so much if it's mild yuri.) As for yaoi pairings, you have to tell me which one it is before I look at it. I except most, but not all. As for heterosexual pairings,I don't like many of them, so you probably won't get me to beta read for one of those unless it's a pairing I can tolerate or you manage to really impress me with content and writing style! |
