I'm a avid reader, which is to say I read many, many books - I'm very accepting of many different writing styles, and I enjoy reading a well-thought-out story. When betareading I am as thorough as possible, and having a large vocabulary I may be able to help spruce things up a bit if you think it needs it... eh. I am, however, very choosy on one or two things. You must have at least some semblance of an idea of how to spell things. I will correct a misspelled word here and there, but I'm not going to go through your entire story saying, "Oh, you misspelled their, and and amazement, and..." you get the idea. I also prefer length when dealing with reading others' stories, but that is not a huge issue and I'll more or less deal with what I get. Sound good?

My strengths are vocabulary, spelling, punctuation, fluffing. By fluffing I mean adding details and little things to lengthen stories, draw it out, draw the reader in. It's a very useful skill, which I was taught early on by my own series of betareaders. As well, if it's a story I know well, I can also help you get into the character's mind.

My weaknesses are mostly an inability to realize when I've drawn it out *too* much. As long as you can tell when you've had enough of my detailed-ness, then we're good. I also have a tendency to use really big words most people don't understand... so... if you don't understand the words I'm using, just yell "Stop! Too much!"

I prefer to read stories I know more about, but if given a backround and basic synopsis of just about any story I can fairly easily beta it. Sometimes I like to go in and read fanfics about stories I have no idea what they're about and end up getting hooked on the book/show/movie, etc. I mostly enjoy humorous, thrilling, scary, or mysterious stories, but occaisonally I will venture into romantic, angsty, etc. kind of stories.

All I have to say is this, and this is a word of warning: I will not, WILL NOT (I draw the line at this) beta stories about guy on guy pairings and girl on girl pairings. I'm just not that kind of person. Sorry. Your story might be good, but I just cannot stand reading about that stuff... it's not you. It's me. Hope you find better luck elsewhere, and I sincerely mean that. Everyone deserves a chance to express themselves.
