Katniss goes to the woods to keep her mind off of the happenings of the revolution. Then on her way, she is met by a hellish assassin who is trying to destroy her. Will Katniss survive? After the last Mortal Kombat, Quan Chi was forbidden to take lives by the Elder Gods. He was in need of souls, especially souls of warriors who were powerful enough to restore his magic. Katniss' was what he wanted. Scorpion and Mileena were sent into the arena of the 75th Hunger Games as the Capitol's tributes.

The elder gods had a vision that a new fear was coming. Something bigger than Shao Kahn. Only the strongest of the mortal kombat community could defeat this new enemy and they must do it alone. The elder gods devise a plan to send the 24 best fighters of mortal kombat and send them to an arena where they will fight to the death until only one is left standing.
