Author has written 34 stories for StarTrek: Voyager, Tales of Symphonia, Treasure Planet, Wolf's Rain, Harry Potter, and Fullmetal Alchemist. "You're a little more than a noble...and I'm a little less than not." That quote is taken from the very first chaptered fanfiction I published here, and in some ways it represents the majority of my subsequent career on this site. I am a fanatic for the game, Tales of Symphonia--and specifically for the sidelined pairing of Raine and Regal. Their relationship has fascinated me almost since the day I began writing fanfiction for the game, and while I certainly have written both for other fandoms and other topics/themes in this one, the focus of my work is clearly seen at the most fleeting glance to have been, and continue to be, R&R. I've been writing for over ten years now. It's probably longer than I even remember, at this point. ...Which is sad, considering I' twenty-one, and you'd think I'd be able to remember something pre-fifth grade. But I always love stepping back to realize that I have such an extensive history. My dream is to become a published novelist. That's also something I've had since I can remember. The very first ToS fanfiction I published here was written when I was thirteen. Accordingly, it's worth several laughs and painful cringes, but it's still one of my babies and shows that, for a tween, I was still very good. At this point, it serves as a stark contrast to highlight just how much I have grown as a writer and storyteller. I am about to graduate from college with a B.S. in English, with a concentration in writing. I have a special love for the mechanics of proper English--i.e., grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. My dream job (aside from being a stay-at-home author-mom. Yes, I want a family.) is being an editor, because I'm good at it. I can be fairly prescriptive, but I also bend the rules around sentence structure a bit for the preservation and cultivation of style. However, I try to keep grammar and punctuation rules hard and fast. Please do forgive any typos you see on this page or in my fanfictions (particularly the older ones), though; I tend to get in such a hurry to post things that I miss my own errors. Great at finding them elsewhere, and great at avoiding an abundance of them to begin with--not so great at going back to find them in my own work. ; That being said, though, if anyone wants a beta or a proofreader, I'm your gal. I may not catch all of the plot holes (though I'll certainly ask the questions that come to my mind), but I'll get my red pen out and make sure your writing shines as an example of beautiful, correct English. So when I remembered that I hadn't actually written my profile, I wasn't quite sure what to say. I always see these witty, interesting tidbits on other people's pages, but I never seem to have the ability to craft them myself. Which is funny, I suppose, since I'm a fiction writer and fancy myself pretty good at turning a phrase. Maybe the problem is that my stories are more interesting than my life could ever be. Who knows? The point I'm trying to make, though, is... Uh... What point am I trying to make? ...Huh... I'll, uh... I'll get back o you on that. |
