As you can see, this is a shared account between Edgar Clarke and Karine Chandler. Karine's the annoying snarky redhead and Edgar is Mr. Oh-so-Dark and broody.

Season 1
This is the story of Lyon, who's head-over-heels for Juvia, who's pining after Gray, who's had a secret crush on Erza (basically since forever), but she's completely oblivious because she's totally in love with Jellal. Of Freed, who feels conflicted over his feelings for Mirajane who's ignoring him because she's not over Laxus who still misses what they used to have (even though he's mostly, completely over it). Of Loke who won't give up even though he knows that he has zero chance with Lucy, even though she's sick and tired of clueless, bone-headed Natsu who doesn't understand why there's a problem.

Season 2
Erza's taking a mission at Crime Sorciere, going after the man she thought she always wanted. Is she leaving behind the man she thought she'd always have? Natsu has friend-zoned himself, leaving Lucy and Lisanna in the lurch. He'd rather avoid them both than risk being a two-timer like Gray. Gray (not actually a two-timer) just can't seem to catch a break. Maybe he just wasn't meant for romantic happiness. Or maybe it's time for a new direction.
Mira's stuck in the past, unable to accept that Laxus has his sights set elsewhere. Freed's never, never giving up on her, even if that means a broken heart. Juvia's having second thoughts about Gray, but Lyon's ready to call it quits. Can she get her feelings sorted out in time, or will she be left with nothing? And Toby's dating Jenny Realight. The Jenny Realight. Wait, what?!

Something's gotta give.

Inspired by the Fairy Tail team's return from Tenrou, Mazeverse explores the tangle of romantic relationships between our favorite guild mages. This will be presented as a series of interconnected short stories that can be read as stand-alone pieces.

Many pairings will be explored (not all at the same time, obviously): Gruvia, Lyvia, Grayza, Jerza, Nalu, Nali, Lolu, Graylu, Bixanna, Gale, ElfEver, Miraxus, Laxana, MiraFreed as well as a handful of crackships as we try to pair the spares. Consider this my attempt at solving the infamous love maze and grow the characters in a way that is grounded and realistic. Because I wrote this with no rules, there's no guarantee on where we're going to end up. This is the Mazeverse. No ship is safe ;)

Mazeverse diverges from canon just as the team returns from Tenrou. (I was plotting this as I watched the Tenrou arc.) Anything that happened after that point (GMG, Tartaros, etc.) hasn't happened in this universe. Most characterizations are based on the anime (dub) as source material.

Other deviations from the original timeline include:
- The Oracion Seis already joined Crime Sorciere.
- Bora has joined Raven Tail.
- Running gag: Lyon always gets inadvertently dragged into other people's relationship drama. At that point, he can't help but meddle (because his own love-life is working out so well...).
- Juvia is trying to kick the third-person speech habit. She still goes back and forth between the two.
- Our beta-couples are significantly more forward than in canon.
- Kinana doesn't exist in this 'verse :( Sorry! I plotted this before I got to her introduction in the anime.

Quick note about how I use the ship tags: I'll tag two people as a pairing if their relationship is at the forefront of the story, and no competing ship is actively teased. What does that mean? If a story is mostly Character A x Character B, but we still play with the idea Character B x Character C, then I won't tag either as a ship. The story is relevant to both story lines. However, if I focus exclusively on Character A x Character B, I will tag them as a ship, whether they're happy, sad, breaking up (hey, I like angst XD), or going no where fast (I'm a slow-burn junkie). That said, if you're only interested in one ship's story line, you're better off looking at the whole list of fics at the link above and just reading the ones where I call out the ship in the description. Be warned that I'll include any ship that has a major revelation (something that be confusing if you skip), even if they don't play a large part in the story. Hopefully that makes sense. I think some people do this differently, so I thought it was worth calling out.

It is believed that major disasters such as tornadoes can have their causes traced back to the flapping wings of a butterfly. The smallest actions can have the biggest consequences. Mira and Elfman pick up Lisanna to complete an S-Class quest to stop The Beast. Natsu begs to be allowed to come along and, with Lisanna’s insistence, he gets to tag along for the mission. She has no idea the impact her one sentence will cause.

Fairy tales are a magical thing. They capture our imaginations from an early age as Disney films or as bedtime stories. They get parodied or reimagined over and over, but somehow they never fail to delight. Join me as I borrow some of these classic tales and turn them into AUs, Fairy Tail-style.
