Who am I

It is rather annoying really to try and think of something witty or captivating to tell others about me. But I am assuming you will read this to know who am I and what I am doing.

So who am I?

I am an adventurer, seeking to explore new lands.

I am a student, embracing the knowledge my elders have to teach me.

I am a musician, playing the sweet songs of melody to sweeten the day.

I am a reader, taking in all the information that I can take in.

I am a writer, trying to write stories despite all those writer's block.

I am a storyteller, recounting the great sagas of a long time ago... in a galaxy far away.

I am a foodaholic, embracing old and new places to eat.

I am a hermit, secluding myself from civilization.

I am an adult, trying to figure out responsibility.

I am a child, doing my best to enjoy my life.

My Fan Fiction Interest

I enjoy the Harry Potter series and fan fictions and will probably base all my stories off of Harry Potter. There may be some parts that are influenced from other stories, but the main bulk (if not all of it) will be from the Harry Potter world.

My Pet Peeves in Fan Fiction

CROSS OVERS

I am not a huge fan of any cross-overs. This is due to that fact that I have only seen a few that did a great job in doing cross overs. Many cross overs where there are issues with trying to combine the difference physics and logic of the different worlds. If the author does make a good connection though or a good reason, then they can be enjoyable. If they want to keep the same, please at least have an explanation (I.E. - (Bad) Twilight and Harry Potter cross-overs... all vampires sparkle is canon in author's world, yet for some reason there are a few that suddenly do not. (Good) Twilight and Harry Potter cross-over... there are various types of vampires, but they live in separate areas around the world and have not had much of a chance to interact. Due to changes and adaptation within their environment and etc. different vampires like the ones in Harry Potter and Twilight exist in the same world). Using both types of world mechanics is fine, just need to stick to it and have it set and laid out. An example that I say is a good meshing of two worlds would be Potter in Forks by Hermit32. While characters behaviors may have some differences with the original design, the writer took the time to explain the differences and yet mesh the two worlds together. However, I have not seen many to make this as enjoyable of an experience for me (Harry joining the Avengers and suddenly firing laser beams and etc. with his wand and other items and somehow Stupefy and Avada Kedavra working on machines). I still look out for some stories with such situations, but am still cautious of it. This does not mean I will not do a cross-over myself. Just that I am a little touchy on it (you need to at least explain that the two worlds either acknowledge the difference and they work on it or one works around the other. Just having one character in one world suddenly know how everything works in another work does not make any sense).

JAPANIZATION OF HARRY POTTER

When reading other people's works, I noticed that many are HEAVILY Japanized. Harry and his friends suddenly knowing how to speak and understand the Japanese culture and language, calling each other something-KUN or something-SAN, knowing how to use weapons like ninja stars and katanas, and other ridiculous ideas. Unless it is a cross over with another world like Naruto (or any other Japanese based story), the characters are attending or interacting with someone from Mahoutokoro School of Magic, or the setting takes place with a more Asian themed background, it really is rather confusing and annoying to suddenly have something like that happen without an explanation. There is no logic as to why they would know ESPECIALLY when many authors pass it off as Family heirlooms or part of their vault collection. So unless there is a VERY good reason (which sadly there nearly always is not as most authors merely have anime fever which makes them write that way) I firmly believe that there should not be any Japanization of the story. I am a fan of people who at least take the time to explain the situation even as a side note but still explain their reasoning as to why the Asianization of the story takes place. Judo and Karate and learning such things I am alright with as during the time line, the UK has been on the rise with various martial arts with several martial arts being taught during that time (as long as they explain that the character was taught by someone as they were growing up by a teacher or someone else... I.E. parent or grandparent who traveled to Asia/Japan during WW2/Korean War/Veitnam War/Etc. and picked up some things, had a friend from there who came and taught, or learned at a local martial arts studio in the UK).

My Annoyance in the Rowling World

There are way too many magicals if you consider the magical communities and schools to the ratio of magicals. Unless the entire Wizarding Britain is no more than a couple of hundred, maybe a few thousand (tops) or so, the enrollment number of students, size of the buildings, and etc would make it hard to explain. Officially, there are only seven schools around the world, according to Rowling, but considering how many magicals there are and how many muggleborns are coming in, and just factoring the number of magicals attending the Quidditch World Cup, it is quite obvious that the birthrate and graduation/enrollment rate are woefully off. I do like fan fics that actually address this issue and expand on the world that create new communities and expansion on existing ones. It also does help that such fan fics also go into some detail explaining why such places exist.

STATUS: Indefinite Hiatus / Possible Discontinue

I do have other works that are in progress but with completely original worlds, characters, and ideas and will probably look elsewhere to post as this site is for fan based stories only.

Created Characters with Major Roles (from my stories and links to the stories)

Selene - Character in the story The Frost Wand and in Albus Potter and the House of Frost. Selene is a Ravenclaw student who acts as a mentor in a way for young Albus as he begins his First Year in Hogwarts. She was also present when Albus got his wand.

Alex Lee - Main Character in the story London Calling. As a young Korean-American, Alex Lee was what people would consider a stereotypical Asian child. He excelled in many things that his parents pushed him to do. Despite being considered by many a genius (even though he himself did not think so), he lacked the drive and passion in what he was doing. After all, all the ambition he pursued were not his, but his parents. It was an offer of an internship from a Professor that in the end turned Alex's world upside down.

Q&A

Q: Why do you have weird grammar and/or spelling in your stories and profile?

A: First off, I only review myself and use spell check that the writing programs offer. I do not have anyone else reviewing for me. Secondly, I do notice that while I write, I write with a mix (American grammar and spelling style with some spelling that is more English English than American English. Ex. catalog - I say catalogue, gray - I say grey. While I am not like with all words, some I use because I am actually more comfortable using those words. This tends to lead to a mix up in spelling and grammar. So sorry if that causes any issues as well.

Q: May I contact you?

A: Sure. Feel free to PM me or leave a comment/review on my stories for any questions. However, please understand that some answers will be limited. I will do my best to respond to reviews either by next post or directly.

Q: How old are you?

A: Well I had this account since 2005... With that, I will let you guess how old I really am.

Q: Why are the uploads not consistent.

A: My real life gets in the way of updating my works on a frequent basis. I also have other stories being written out and thus do not always devote my time to just on particular story. Also, I tend to easily get writer's block for my stories which can amount for many. The best way to know the latest status of any story is to check out the profile page in the MY WORKS section and see any updates or changes on story status or just PM me.

Q: Why the inconsistent updates?

A: As much as I like to continue to write my stories, real life, writer's block, inspiration/motivation, and other activities (including D&D and other activities) have been the main culprits to delays.
